The time of routine baby care
First care: 3-5 days after birth
Second care: 14-15 days after delivery
Third care: 30-45 days after delivery
Always wash your hands before touching the baby.
Taking care of the umbilical cord, wash your hands before and after touching the umbilical cord. It is not a problem to take a bath while the umbilical cord has not fallen off. Wrap the baby under the umbilical cord. If the umbilical cord is contaminated, wash with clean water and soap and Dry with a clean cloth. Do not bandage the belly or the umbilical cord. Do not put any substance or medicine (alcohol, betadine, etc.) on the navel.
Putting the baby to sleep:
Do not sleep the baby on the stomach. It is better to sleep the baby on the side or back.
Eye care:
Do not use any substance or serum or any medicine for the eyes without a doctor’s prescription.
Prevention of accidents and incidents

  • Avoid keeping animals in your place of residence.
  • Never leave the baby to children.
  • Do not leave the baby alone with pets.
  • Do not put the baby up and down.
  • Avoid repeated kissing and hugging the baby by different people.
  • The baby’s environment should be free of smoke, especially cigarette and hookah smoke.
  • Keep the baby away from sick people.
  • Do not drink hot liquids while hugging the baby.
  • Do not expose the baby to hot liquids and burning devices (samovar – heater -…).
  • Do not leave the baby in the bed or crib without protection.
  • Do not leave the baby alone in high places such as (table – chair).
    In case of any of the following symptoms in the baby, go to the health center as soon as possible (within 24 hours):
    The problem of breastfeeding the baby, mild skin infection (less than 10 pustules), mild infection of the navel (non-purulent and bloody discharge from the navel), thrush in the mouth, feeding the baby with breast milk less than 5 times in 24 hours
    Child care :
    Teach the mother to go to the nearest health center immediately if any of the following symptoms are present in the baby:
    chest tightness, whining, severe paleness or bruising, repeated vomiting of milk or bilious vomiting, less arousal than usual, restlessness and sleepiness, convulsions, diarrhea (excretion of watery stools with a large volume more than 8 times a day) Redness around the eyes – purulent secretions coming out of the eyes – swelling of the eyelids, no defecation in the first 48 hours, restlessness and irritability, not feeding well, purulent secretions from the navel or redness around the navel, fever or coldness of the organs and body, jaundice in the first 24 hours
    Keeping the baby warm:
    A baby needs a layer of clothes more than children or adults. Keep the room or a part of the room warm, especially in cold weather. Do not put the baby in a damp or cool place. Do not swaddle. Do not expose the baby to direct sunlight or drafts. At night, let him sleep with his mother or be within her reach.
